Landforms The Ahaggar Mountains, also known as the Hoggar Mountains, are located in Algeria. These two million year old mountains follow along the Tropic of Cancer. The Ahaggar Mountains rise from the planes of the Sahara Desert. These mountains cover about 450,000 square kilometers of land. On the other hand, the Ahaggar Mountains have a very dry climate. This mountain range consists of volcanic rock all over. The temperatures range from ten degrees fahrenheit at night and a hundred degrees fahrenheit during the day. In the Ahaggar Mountains, rainfall is very rare. The highest peak of the Ahaggar Mountains is Mount Tahat at 9,573 ft. The Ahaggar Mountains about 2,953 ft above sea level.
The Ahaggar Mountains has many effects on the area around it. The Ahaggar Mountains are a huge location for biodiversity. Several different plants and animals live around there. Waterways The Gulf of Aden is located in the Arabian Sea. It flows between the South Coast of the Arabian Peninsula, and Somalia. The Gulf of Aden is a waterway for shipping materials, such as oil. Also, the gulf is a huge location for biodiversity. The gulf is home to many plants and several different types of animals, and fish. The Gulf of Aden is named from the sea spot of Aden. The water temperature ranges from 25 to 31 degrees celsius ( 77 to 88 degrees fahrenheit ).
The Gulf of Aden has a large effect on many people. First, like said previously, the gulf is used as a way of shipping materials, or natural resources, like oil. The Gulf of Aden also connects the Red Sea through the Bab-el-mandeb strait, which is twenty miles long. However, at the same time, the Gulf of Aden, sends a link between the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea. People usually pass through the gulf to get to the SUez Canal, which is a shipping route in the Indian Ocean. The Ubangi River is located in Central Africa. This river is about 659 miles long. The Ubangi River is the largest right-bank tributary of the Congo River. The river begins where Mbomou and the Uele Rivers come together. The Ubangi River also passes through Bangi’s drainage basin, which is 772,800 square kilometers long.

Resources Coffee is a very important resource for the people in Africa. Some of the main places that the most fine coffee beans are produced are Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Kenya. However, Ethiopia was the birthplace of coffee. Coffee growing regions usually have regular sunlight and rainfall, for the coffee. Also, temperatures usually range from 70 to 80 degrees Celsius. The growth of coffee beans are very common in Africa. About 70 percent of the coffee beans harvested are Arabica beans.
Coffee has several effects on the people living in Africa. Coffee is the second most traded resource in Africa. However, for many reasons, such as transportation or export restrictions, etc, the coffee beans from these countries usually don't make it into the cafés in the United States. So many farmers grow coffee beans, due to low cost and large profits. In Africa, only about 13 percent of the soil can be used for cultivation. Also, agriculture employs 65 percent of the Africa’s labor force. Usually, the success of agriculture is based on expansions and land, but some lands are very limited, making it difficult for agricultural farmers to make money. Also, agriculture has a very high need of rainfall, which is something that Africa lacks. The farmers need the rain for the crops to grow, but without the rain the crops are unable to crow, causing the farmers to lose money.
Agriculture has many effects on Africa. Some of these effects would include trading the agriculture with others. Farmers get their money from crops, which is later on used. Also, the agriculture is the way some people in Africa survive. They based their whole lives on agriculture. |
